The Link Christmas

What do we do after waking up at 5:45 too see what Santa left....well we get ready, load up and head to Mom and Dads to have Christmas with them, my sisters and their families. All 13 of us (14 in the making)!  It was a pretty long affair as we each take turns opening presents --- when I was little I didn't care to do that as I didn't want for my turn.  Now that I am older I love doing it .... it gives you an opportunity to see everyone got.  This year it seemed like a Redneck Christmas. Haden got his first gun, a 22.  Boy was he was excited. Grinned from ear to ear and from what I hear PawPaw and him used all the bullets up by Monday!  Cheyann is taking after her grandma (as I didn't pass it onto her) but she has a desire to learn how to sew and is getting pretty good at it if I do say so myself.   She got her first sewing machine and thanks to Camp Grandma's Sew Sew this week she has learned a thing or two!!  I could go on and on but will share a few pictures. It was a wonderful Christmas and I am thankful for every bit of it....Till next year.

Santa Clause Comes to Town

The clock is right...Haden was so excited he ran to our room at 5:45 a.m. to inform us that Santa had been by the house. He had checked the cookies and milk and both were gone. We all got up and of course went to see what Santa had left....

Somehow Santa new he wanted a new bike....along with all kinds of other goodies.

Santa new just what she wanted from new Bobby Jack bedding to a new music stand and other goodies gallore!




Christmas Eve

The first Christmas gift of the day came a bit early.  As we were playing dominoes around noon, the phone rang, Cliff instructed me to move my car out of the garage and my first gift had arrived but it couldn't be wrapped.  We all ran outside like little kids to see Hadley's furniture pull in the driveway...he had got me a new dining room table and chairs.  A big surprise!!!  After 4:00 Mass on Christmas Eve, the kids could wait no longer..it was time to exchange gifts.  Their excitement was showing from ear to ear. And I can't lie I get all excited about watching their expressions as well as Cliff's when they open their presents.  It is at this time too that the kids open their gifts from their Meme and Pappy and we open ours too.  Cheyann will be all decked out in her new clothes and can't wait to use her gift card.  Haden was grinning from ear to ear with all his new baseball and football stuff.  He did get new room decor so he will be sleeping in a room decked out with the Braves.  I surprised Cliff this year with a TV for our bedroom and a left handed set of golf clubs.  Yes, that is right, left handed by my mistake.  As you can imagine I am not a professional at buying golf stuff but we got it exchanged and Cliff is ready to go with his new Alabama golf accessories from his sister!    

The McBroom Christmas Card

Well as you can see I didn't do good this year at mailing out Christmas cards. We had all intentions to do so...but nonetheless we failed.  So from our house to yours The McBroom Family wishes everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I have no idea what Haden was looking at!  But I love my family!!!

Yesterday we loaded up and headed to the Woodlands for Christmas with my Grandma and Grandpa.  It was a fun filled day with lots of laughs and good times.  Our family is really good at squeezing in more than one event in a single day.  We have been known to have showers, reunions and birthdays all in less than 10 hours.  This Haught event was no different we celebrated Emma Claire's 3rd birthday as well.  She has grown up so quickly and such a "Princess".  Cheyann acquired her first ever sewing basket filled with goodies.  She is so excited as she is so into sewing....giving her first quilt to Karyn's "newborn" as Haden calls it.  All in all it was a great day and I am so thankful to have my grandparents in our lives!

Motivational Mondays

I thought and thought about doing Wordless Wednesdays but decided that after this morning when I was so tired getting out of bed and wondering where the entire weekend went and why it went so fast.  I decided I would do Motivational Mondays --- to get me going and rev'd up for the new work week.

On Friday we decided to load up and head over to Galveston via the ferry (for future reference the ferry adds at least an hour to your trip). We met the Garza Family at Beenos on the Seawall ate some seafood (except Krystal still hasn't changed and settled for chicken strips or something of that sort!).  Emma Claire was so full of excitement and eager to go on to see the lights and the snow.  We finally made it to the Festival of Lights.

It was  a great time and by the end of the night every elf was fast asleep on the way home.

Fa La La Fa La La La La La

Last night, Cheyann, performed her first band concert for the public at the high school. I must tell you I was really impressed.  Growing up I knew little to nothing about the band. So when she decided to join I was a little shocked.  In fact there have been times she has practiced and asked me what note she messed up on--are you kidding me there is more than one letter to choose from? After hearing what I heard to the tune of Jingle Bells, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, Up on the Housetop, and Jolly Ole St. Nick I was very glad she took this step. She is good at it and enjoys it. Sits so poised --- I look forward to many more concerts to come.
