Washers, Hammocks, Eggs and Four Wheelerin'

It has been awhile since we had been back to East Texas and the four wheeler was calling Cliff's name, the peacefulness, breezes and the hammock were calling mine, and the chickens and good ole' family time were calling the kids!  Getting up the farm for the weekend is always good for the soul.  There is not alot to do in fact nothing really - no hustling bustling, no traffic, just good ole county times.

We took the four wheeler for rides through a trail or two that my brother in law, dad, uncle and cousin have been working so diligently on.  It is looking really good and it was lots of fun.   We broke out the washers and played game after game.  I won't tell everyone so I will put this on my blog and share it on facebook (that I beat Cliff 8-0 once and then he challenged me again and yes I beat him then too).  Below is a picture of Cliff challenging my Dad...

I caught a long over due much needed nap in the hammock!

Cheyann enjoyed lots of special one on one time with her GiGi (aka my Grandma) I am not sure who enjoys it more her or my Grandmother.  I even stayed Friday night with her and we talked and talked.  Before I knew it it was 12:30 a.m. way past my bed time for those who know me!

Dieing eggs was a fun treat and brought back lots of good memories! Mom took the kids on a mule ride to find flowers....as a little girl, our mom, took us to do the same thing, we made beautiful nests of flowers that we put our basket on for the Easter bunny to find.

Yes, on Sunday morning we got up when the sun came up and the Easter bunny had came by, we did the hunt, the kids checked out their baskets and we made it to 8:00 mass -- for those of you who don't know the Link Family is real good at cramming many events into a little bit of time. Mom prepared a wonderful Easter lunch, pigged out and hit the road back home to reality!

And the family:

Cheyann Elease

During our weekend visit with my parents (more on that to come by a separate blog) Mom decided to take a photo shoot of Cheyann.  Getting her to pose was a hoot and I think Mom and I laughed more than once or twice! She sure is growing up to be a very beautiful young lady.  Reminds me just how fast time goes by and how quickly they grow up!  I love this girl!!!

The Cubs are Back

Well it is has been quit a while since I have blogged last.  To be honest with you we are pretty consumed with Little League Baseball! The Cubs are Back in Town.  Needless to say we don't have the near perfect record as we did last year...but we are hanging in.  They have hit the half way point of the season and Friday marks the first game of the rest of the season...More to come as the season unravels.

Happy Birthday Krystal!

My little sister, Krystal, turns the big 30 today!  I have been so blessed to have two sisters that have grown up to be two of my best friends!  Krystal, claims we were mean to her as a kid, but I highly doubt that! Look how much we loved each other!
From left to right, Karyn, Krystal and Me....

This weekend we are keeping Emma and Holden so her and Gabriel can celebrate her birthday! I hope she has a wonderful time.  Love you!!! Caryl

Fun Fair & Fabulous Friends

Jaxson, Cheyann, Haden and Klay checking out the horses --

Tilt a Whirl

Cheyann and Klay hanging upside down on the WindSurfer

Haden and Jaxson hanging loose

The Crazy Mouse -- the crazy four!
Believe it or not last night we had a baseball free night and headed to the Southeast Texas State Fair with the Sylvesters (Christie, Jason, Klay and Jaxson) true friends that really know to have a good time.  The kids braved more rides than I ever remember braving when I was little.  Haden opted out of a few and I don't blame him and if it wouldn't have been for the fact that Jaxson is only 6 he would have road every ride that Cheyann and Klay rode.  Those two rode the Windsurfer that literally flipped them upside down, they hung their for a few and did more looped to loops than I care to venture on myself.  I saw so many smiles out of the four of them -- After riding what they wanted we couldn't dare miss out on the  "treats" at the fair from pork-ka-bobs to fried oreos for Cheyann...Smiles below:
